Toyota Dream Car Art Contest!

Toyota Financial Services proudly announces the 7th Annual Toyota Dream Car Art Contest. This worldwide competition is designed to inspire creativity in youth and encourage their interest in cars.

Submissions from eligible youth, ages 4-15, are accepted starting Friday, February 1, 2013 and must be postmarked no later than Thursday, February 28, 2013.

Theme: Your Dream Car
Age Categories: 4-9 years; 10-12 years; 13-15 years
Types of Awards: Gold, Silver, and Bronze
Judging Criteria: Expressiveness of message, uniqueness, and artistry
Structure: National and World Contests (over 70 participating countries)

Paper Size: 11-12 inches x 16.5-18 inches (A3, Tabloid, Art Print)
Requirements: Hand-drawn (not digital) illustration by child of a car with background
Medium: Crayons, color pencils, markers, watercolors
Submission: Artwork, Entry Form and Questionnaire assembled together as a set

February 1-28, 2013:  National Contest Period (submissions accepted)

1.   Download Entry Form and Questionnaire. Print on two separate sheets of paper (no double-sided printing). Advise youth, ages 4-15, to complete each form and have their parent or legal guardian sign both.

2.   Share the contest’s artwork requirements with participating youth, ages 4-15:

—Create a hand-drawn (not digital) illustration on the appropriate size of paper.
—Use crayons, color pencils, markers, and/or watercolors to draw a dream car against a fully designed background setting.
—Refrain from using any corporate logos or products other than Toyota, if any.
—Avoid using images of recognizable people or including any personal information

3.  Glue or tape the two completed and signed forms to the back of the finished artwork. (Note: Youth may submit multiple artworks if each is of a different image and accompanied by two separate sets of completed and signed forms.)

4.   When mailing single or multiple submissions, ensure artworks are not folded, stapled, bent or placed directly on top of other artworks. Submissions must be postmarked by Thursday, February 28, 2013 and received by Thursday, March 7, 2013 to be eligible. Send to:

Dates: February 1-28, 2013
Awards: Nine U.S. winners will be selected to receive a NOOK Tablet™ and an award certificate. In addition, their artwork will be submitted to Japan for consideration in the World Contest.
Jurors: Includes TFS President & CEO George E. Borst; TFS Vice President of Product & Marketing Karen Ideno; collector Cheech Marin; Ian Cartabiano, Studio Design Manager, Calty Design Research, Inc.; artist Frank Romero; and others.

Dates: April–May 2013 (Submission & Review); August 2013 (Awards Ceremony)
Awards: Selected from entries submitted from over 70 countries, thirty youth, each accompanied by one guardian, will receive a free trip to Tokyo, Japan during August 26-30, 2013. This five-day, four-night trip includes two days of programs on August 27-28, 2013 and an awards ceremony on August 28, 2013.
